Sims 3
All downloads are in Sim 3 pack and made with the TSR Workshop. These items should be downloaded, extracted from their zip and placed in the game download folder and installed via the game launcher. All items on this site are in zip file format. To download items from the site, click the picture of the desired item and save somewhere on your computer.
Sims 2
All custom content with the exception of houses comes in package files. Package files can be downloaded by clicking the picture of the desired item and saving it on your computer. Extract the zip file and place the package file in your downloads folder in the sims 2. House packs require that after you unzip the file that you double click on the pack file and the game installs it. Simply placing house files in the downloads folder will not install the house.
How to extract Zip files
Right click with your mouse on the zip file and click extract, this should extract the item. Once extracted follow the instructions above depending on what type of item you have downloaded.
